Last week, within the space of 4 days, my mp3 player suffered a critical hard drive failure and my digital camera locked into position, froze, and died. It sucks. It's a luxury to have both so I'm realistic about the actual level of annoyance I am feeling, but it's still a bit of a pain since I used both of them on an almost daily basis. So no music for me at work, and no pictures of me holding up work work work until I buy new ones, which will probably be a while. Oh well.

Back to work work work. There are going to be lots of very long nights for me this November and December. It will all pay off come January 1st. You'll see. I'll tell you all.

"Unmasked" is the pre-Mid Ohio Con party being sponsored by Ferret Press and the Panel Collective. The party is on Friday, November 24th from 8 pm until around midnight or so. It's being held at the Underground which is at Barley's Brewing Company, 467 North High Street, Columbus (right across from the convention center). All and sundry are invited to drop in, hang out with comics pros and fans, hear some live music, eat lots of free appetizers, snag some free comics, drink heavily (not free but still fun) and other surprises. Sadly, I will not be there since I will actually be having a Thanksgiving holiday complete with some time off with my always amazing wife and her family. But if you're anywhere near Columbus and plan on going to Mid Ohio Con, stop in and spend some time. Them Panel guys are alright! I mean, check out that freakin' awesome poster designed by fellow Panelista Tom Williams!

This morning I told Rudy that I was fucking sick of chores and that I refused to do any laundry, any cleaning, any vacuuming, or any dusting today. Then I told her I was going to play videogames all day long. This was the last thing I remember seeing...

Back to work work work. I wanted to lay in some of the color last night (mostly greens, a blue or two, and some vivid orange) but I am somehow out of most of the inks I need. I'll get to the art supply store tomorrow and pick some up. No work work work tonight...instead, a wine tasting at the dean's house. Spap!

No work work work last night. I had to go to Columbus for a Panel meeting. Lately we've been having these at MoMo2 which has been kind of cool. The new anthology is coming together, although there have been a few more complexities than I think we are used to. Still, I'm confident we'll have it ready to go soon. Here's a lovely photo of fellow Panelistas Dara Naraghi and Andy Bennett taking a little trip down memory lane and looking at some Panel art from way before your beloved Matt Kish was even a member of the collective. Let's look...

Yes, good times.
In other news, the library where I work currently has a show highlighting art by librarians. Sure, it's not a gallery or something like that, but I did submit the drawing "Flying-Not-Swimming, the Effervescent Satellite" and now it sits in the display case near the first floor. For a non-artist like myself, it was kind of nice to see. And surprisingly a lot of people complimented me on the drawing, which was a bit unexpected. Overall, I think my drawing made a good show. Here are a few pics, for posterity.

That's all for now. Back to work tonight. And hopefully I'll have time to catch up on the mountain of email from friends and family that has been pushed back and back and back...

The new work is coming along, although the ink was still a bit wet here.

I've been working on something. More details will follow in the next month and a half. Here I am, showing some of it. Man, I need a shave.
